They don't mention cost, but I heard that they lease for ~$800 each. Yikes.

This is a journal detailing the weird and wonderful process of converting a former gas-burning car into an electric vehicle. Not only will said vehicle be green, but the plan is to have it be a lot of fun to drive as well.

Rob,
Probably not the place to post this but I had a question regarding your Power to Manual steering rack swap. I am also building an electric Cabriolet and doing the same thing with a rack I found off craigslist from a 80's diesel rabbit. The rack and universal shaft bolt up just fine to my 89 Cabriolet. The problem is the gear shift linkage which mounts to the front of the rack. The top bracket on the manual rack is about an inch shorter than the one that was on the PS rack. So the stud on the linkage support does not line up with the bracket. I either have to drill a hole in the linkage support and insert a bolt or weld an extension on the rack bracket. Did you have the same issue?
Very nice car by the way. I hope to be electrified in May. You can follow by ID to my blog
